My name is Allen, and today I am 18 years old. I am from Aurora, Il. Here’s a little background info. I’ve always felt different than other people. I’ve always had weird music taste, weird fashion choice, and weird interests. I remember being in 3rd grade listening to rock music and being made fun of because it wasn’t what other black kids my age were listening to.  Me and my big sister used to always make random little jingles for the most random situations. We could be driving on the highway and sing a song about being on top of the other cars. We had an idea for a song when I was 7 and she was 8. It was called “Silver Wolf”. It was awful but we were just kids then, singing songs because we saw people on TV doing it, and we thought it was cool. I started writing raps when I was 11. During the summer after 5th grade, my family was moving from Sunrise, Florida back to Aurora, Illinois. A few days before we moved, me and my sister recorded a song on her phone. We made the beat by banging on the inside of an empty closet. It was called “Party of The Century”. It was again, awful, but when I kept listening back to it, I really liked my verse on it. I had this wild thought that I could be a rapper. I wrote raps until I was about 13 and started recording my songs. My first ever song was a song called “Yikes!”. It had clear early Tyler The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt inspirations because I was really into horrorcore at the time. Around that time, I stopped just hearing music and I actually started listening to it. I began a search for music. I listened to all genres to see what I liked. I took a liking to bands like Panic! At The Disco and Bad Brains, and old school rap like Dr. Dre, Eazy-E and DMX, while still appreciating new school rap like Playboi Carti and XXXTentacion. I really got into it when I was 14. I started with the music I liked then, which was mainly radio-friendly trap music and got very into the different sub-genres of rap. I really liked how rap music was different than other genres in that it’s sub-genres were communities in and of itself. Examples are trap metal, alternative rap, pop rap, etc. From then and to this day, I’ve had a lot of respect and love for the art of rap and tried to replicate what I liked into my own music. Because of my music tastes, my songs varied from meme trap songs like “Dick In A Blender!” and “Valenlslime” to alternative rap songs like “Maggotskin” to more traditionally lyrical works like “Pavement Slaves” and “Alaska”. I want to spread a message with my music that I believe nobody should have to be scared to like what they like. It’s not about what other people are doing. I want my music to encourage others like me to be who they want to be and feel free to express themselves in whatever way they want to.
