Kei (pronounced “K”) Chaney is a smooth balladeer from the City of Brotherly Love. From 2012 to 2019 Kei was the 1st tenor in Philadelphia International Records soul vocal group “The Ebony’s”. In 2018 Kei Chaney released an EP entitled: “Lady In My Life”. In 2020 he released a Single entitled: “Jazz Times“ featuring Lin Rountree, which was written and produced by Grammy-Winning Producer Chris “Big Dog” Davis. “Jazz Times“ would place in the top 100 on the Smooth Jazz charts. Kei went on the release his first Christmas Single entitled: “Christmas Time Is Here” featuring Carl Cox. Kei Chaney is a talented 1st tenor who lives in the City of Brotherly Love. His father, a gospel soloist, his mother, a lover of Jazz and his oldest sister, a pianist influenced KEI. He studied the piano at the age of nine; and was the youngest vocalist to perform with the legendary Duke Ellington at his “Sacred Concert” at the age of thirteen. In 1972 he sang with the R&B group “The Magestics”. He moved on to stage plays and the jazz club circuit performing as a solo artist and a group singer. He has worked and recorded with many known producers such as, Norman Harris, Sam Reed, Alfie Pollit, Eugene “Lambchops” Curry and many others. From 2012 to 2019 KEI was the 1st tenor in Philadelphia International Records’ soul vocal group “The Ebony’s”. In 2018 KEI Chaney released an EP entitled: “Lady In My Life”. In 2020 he released a Single entitled: “ Jazz Times “ featuring Lin Rountree which was written and produced by Grammy-Winning Producer Chris “Big Dog” Davis. “ Jazz Times “ featuring Lin Rountree reached the top 100 on the Smooth Jazz charts. KEI has release several other Singles including his first Christmas song entitled: “Christmas Time Is Here” featuring Carl Cox. He had a few Singles up for Grammy Consideration in 2022; “Christmas Time Is Here” and “My One and Only Love”. His current Single entitled: “Your Side Of Joy” channels Kei’s country side and is receiving positive reviews in booth the Smooth Jazz and Country markets.
