Bio
Kanacept is a unique hybrid between classical and jazz flute quartet. Our repertoire is made of original compositions and classical music spontaneously arranged in a contrapuntal fashion with influence of rock and blues music. We've worked two year to experiment our music and finally got a chance to make a recording officially which is releasing our 1st album June 2017. Flute player, Kana Minamoto originally from Japan, is a soloist, as well as in orchestral, chamber, Jazz, free improvise. Motivated by her deep interest in jazz music, Kana moved to New York in 2014. Kieran McAuliffe is an NYC based guitarist, bassist and composer who incorporates mathematical concepts in a natural sounding way into all of his work. He has a strong background in a diverse number of genres from jazz to classical to metal. Sammy Weissberg is also an NYC based bassist, composer who plays many band in Brooklyn. Yosuke Nagayama is a drummer from Japan, experienced jazz drummer.
