ABC’s Windy City LIVE “Search for a Star” finalist, Justin Ruff is the definition of an artist! Fusing his R&B/Soul background with his scat singing skills and love for jazz music, the star on the rise has created a sound all his own. The 25 year old, Cincinnati native, began developing a love for music at the tender age of 10. He was later introduced to Jazz music while studying at The School of Creative and Performing Arts. After deciding that he wanted to pursue music full-time, Justin moved to Chicago where he spread his wings and soared into the ears and hearts of many!
Bridging the gap between old school and mainstream music of today, Ruff has a way of bringing his listeners “home” with his sultry delivery and smooth presence. He is undoubtedly ahead of his time, yet somehow right on time. Having already caught the attention of major publications such as JET Magazine, Saint Heron and Soultrain.com, to name a few, the young crooner is looking to make his mark as one of today’s most sought after artists. With hit records gracing the airwaves from Chicago’s #1 radio station 107.5 WGCI all the way back to his hometown of Cincinnati's #1 Radio Station, 101.1 The Wiz, Ruff is well on his way to becoming a house-hold name.
Justin recently released his debut EP, ‘‘The Ruff Draft’’ which debuted in the Top 100 on iTunes R&B/Soul Charts. Since its release, he’s been awarded great opportunities such as opening for Grammy-nominated R&B artist, Ginuwine and R&B group, Dru Hill. Fresh off his successful Intimate Nights tour, Justin is showing no signs of slowing down as he's already been selected to perform at the 2017 Taste of Chicago.
