“Froese’s latest project [Fireflies] packages his uplifting blues rock in a poppy format that makes for easy listening but retains his traditional grit and emotional complexity.” - www.SeattleLivingRoomShows.com
"Amazing artist. Wonderful human. And man, can he make some music that will rock and soothe your soul. An all time fave. I highly recommend a listen." Autumn S., author/poet -
"Justin has quite the knack for transforming his quiet musings and inner life into powerful musical experiences for others."
Ivar R - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro -
"Justin Froese’s radio-ready voice soars perfectly over this five-song alt-rock gem [Taming the Fox]. Sometimes bluesy, sometimes driving, sometimes romantic, this five piece showcases a stunning musical vocabulary, as well as a fat pocketful of talent and an apparent shared love for Jeff Buckley." - San Diego City Beat
I am fortunate to be in a position to listen to a lot of really great music. Every so often a song hits me like a bolt of lightning and completely floors me. That happened this past Sunday at Subterranean during ENE’s weekly taping. The bolt came from California-based singer/songwriter and classically trained guitarist Justin Froese’s set, in particular The Way It Goes. I’ve included it below but his album, Here Rules, (available on iTunes, etc) is a tenderly crafted folk/pop album worth checking out. - http://meanlittlebumblebee.com/
“Finally Here” is a joyful, uptempo tune which is in the contemporary folk-rock vein of Mumford & Sons. The song starts out with just vocals and acoustic guitars, and then gradually builds into a full arrangement. The chorus is the song’s highlight, featuring a very hooky melody plus appealing, female background harmonies (sung by Daniela Curto). Impressively, Froese produced this recording and played all the instruments. - SongwriterUniverse.com

Bio
Justin Froese is a multi-talented artist/producer. Justin is known for his groove-driven alt pop stylings, built on a diverse palate of musical tastes. His mainstream sensibilities combined with ten years of classical music training have resulted in the ability not only to cross genres, but also in many cases, defy them. Bluesy, soulful - Justin always delivers a dynamic, heartfelt performance.
After a summer in Austin wrapping up recordings, Justin has released his full-length album Fireflies. Exploring, as he historically has, various grooves and styles in his recordings, one thing unites all tracks - a solid songwriting craft. Two of the album's more poppy and anthemic songs - Already Over and Finally Here - have already received honorable mention, placed as a finalist, and/or won the grand prize for several songwriting competitions, including the 2013 Song Door International Songwriting Competition (grand prize), the 2013 USA Songwriting Competition (finalist), and the 2014 San Diego Songwriters Guild Song Contest (grand prize).
Currently Justin is touring the U.S. in support of his latest release, Fireflies.
