"Although they are all relatively young men, the soul of Just Walden is seasoned and sage even. Their piano driven songs are spacious compositions, urgent and dreamlike." - Erick Mertz, Bearded Magazine - Bearded Magazine
Singer/songwriter Danny Ferraro quit his job at Goldman Sachs to pursue a career in music, and he’s off to a great start. Now with a full band, Just Walden, he recently released “Summer Day Charade,” a moving and emotional track from his second album, out now. The song was apparently inspired by an “alcohol-tinged, day-time party this summer that quickly turned into a charade of sorts,” which reassures his audience that he’s just another normal person like us. - Magnet Magazine
"High Street Barton Blues is a musical exploration and a trans-formative journey through the consummation of dreams into reality." - Jenn Bress - Indie Munity
Back in August, I told you about a little band called Just Walden, their album High Street Barton Blues, and frontman Danny Ferraro, who went from Wall Street to London and finally circled back to Austin, Texas, where he reassembled his band and created a psychedelic masterpiece.
It’s somewhat fitting, then, that this sonic journey should be translated into a visual one. The video for “Space Cadet” exploits the cyclical nature of the human condition in a particularly esoteric — yet super moving — way. “This song is our mantra,” says the band. “Live life to the fullest, before you end up cold and lost. Abandon your usual post in society and go off the beaten path.”
Now, in its exclusive Popdose premiere, you can be the first to watch and share this magnificent cultural statement. (Oh, and bonus, the song’s not bad either!) - Pop Dose
"High Street Barton Blues is that exact type of experiential musical culmination...there’s something for everyone on this album, whether it’s the illustrious single “Romie Knows”, “Space Cadet” or my personal groovy favorite “Full Body Tattoo”, let them drive this musical train as you follow in toe." - MetroJolt
"Combines a new and old piano sound that is often missing in contemporary band but the album is cohesive and moves at the right cadence for them." - Marcel Hidalgo, StackStreet - StackStreet
"Psychedelic swirls, billowing piano flourishes and a pulsing, quick-moving pace and soul-scorching lyrics" - Allison Boron, PopDose.com - PopDose.com
"Contagiously melodic sound...will stay with you well after extensive listens. You may see yourself playing it for years to come, simply because of the cool, airy vibe it carries. The blending of well-written songs from the heart over organic, genuine production is always a winning combination." - Tia Scott - PhantEye
"Just Walden’s debut album High Street Barton Blues is an incredibly assured work that is pulled off wonderfully by all four musicians...musically falling somewhere between Suuns and Future Islands." - Mike Olinger, Vinyl District - The Vinyl District
"In preparation to their fall release of their upcoming album 'High Street Barton Blues', Just Walden released their newest single "Romie Knows", to get your fix for what to expect from the band, take a listen to their newest single, available for download on Soundcloud as well" - Amanda Cowan, Empty Lighthouse - Empty Lighthouse Magazine
"High Street Barton Blues is mighty impressive and showcases a band that has a good amount of talent; they bring some very accessible, well-written tunes that are bound to get stuck in your head" - Ted Rogen, The Equal Ground - The Equal Ground

Bio
Just Walden is the solo musical project of singer-songwriter and composer Danny Ferraro. Inspired by Thoreau's legendary tome, Walden, Ferraro left a career in finance in 2014 to start Just Walden and create its debut album, High Street Barton Blues. With the help of former band-mates and friends in Austin, TX, Just Walden started touring in the summer of 2014 from the Southwest to the Northeast, playing their last show under this arrangement in December 2014. In the new year, Ferraro moved back home to the Northeast, and is currently working on Just Walden's 2nd album, which promises to be as original and engaging as its first.
