Joi Giovanni

Before she was JG she was Ms. Joi, the curvy vixen and actress with the hazel eyes, hosting the parties, killing every character she played on the stage, and working tirelessly behind the stage for some of the biggest shows to come to the Carolinas like Da Baby, Yo Gotti, Kevin Gates and more.  

     Joi Giovanni, born Joi Reddon, is a native of Washington D.C and a product of the holy city Charleston, SC. Joi, who prefers to go by the name JG, hit the music scene by surprise when she appeared on CornerMade Music’s “Greatness” album in January of 2020. Whether it was her heartfelt Rod Wave like delivery on the record “Pen Pal”, or her “I can stand alone next to the men” delivery on the record “Bars IV” JG has set the expectations for her debut album “Intentional Controversy” high. This fiery artist pulls inspiration from some of hip-hop and R&B”s greatest musicians such as Lil Kim, Moneybagg Yo, Teyana Taylor, Lauryn Hill and more. 

     Like some of the powerful women that inspire her; JG has shown that she’s not afraid to speak her mind which was identified on her track “Know Me” produced by Mossberg Montana. It appears that this new spit fire on the mic plans to make her mark in the hip-hop community with her upcoming album, “Intentional Controversy”, set for release October 16, 2020. 

      JG made a powerful move by teaming up with heavy hitter producer Baby Breeze, who is responsible for Saucy Santana’s banger “Walk Em Like A Dog” and BRS Kash "Kash App", for her debut project. Although JG wanted to show her ability to stand on hip-hop’s throne all by herself; fans can expect features from two of Charleston’s hottest artists Lil Block aka Static and GeechieLord. With a title like “Intentional Controversy” one thing that we can count on is that this album might ruffle some feathers for some listeners.
