Bio

Johnny Zarrow, hard to classify, yet, so easy to listen to.
Johnny Zarrow's core is a trio of diverse songwriting talents who craft a high dose of originality and groove.

They have taken their influences from rock, soul and Americana developing their a unique sound. Through the 10 tracks on their debut CD, Tunnel-Vision, they venture into various permutations of a rock/soul gumbo that is sure to please your musical palate. The CD opens with the foot tapping "Blind Spot", an up-tempo rocker, and closes with the funky "Pick It Up". In between they add various spices of funk and rock and leave you feeling full and satisfied.

Their live shows are infused with covers by The Band, Neil Young, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, The Temptation and the Beatles. A tasty musical stew to say the least.

Deborah Morgenstern is a multi-talented singer, songwriter and musician.
She
has been performing in Community Theater, small jazz ensembles that
include the highly-regarded folk group, Chardonnay, and in a variety of
Gospel groups.  She has appeared at NYC's Bitter End, Long Island
Wineries, and the Riverhead Blues Festival. Deborah also did back-up
vocals in Nashville.  Now, she is the lead singer in the band Johnny
Zarrow.

Frank Armone, following a nine year stint with the NYC-based Henley Almond Band, he relocated
to Long Island when the group moved to Oregon. He was then recruited by
the wildly popular Cajun group, The Smokin' Skillets. From there he
started Johnny Zarow.  Frank's influences from Kenny Burrell to Roy
Buchanan, help lend a unique flavor to an already unique and eclectic
band.

Bill Herman, owner of Paradiddle Records and
Recording studio, is the latest addition to Johnny Zarrow.  Bill has
been a member of Revolver and The Ghosts of Electricity.  He has been
extremely active in the Long Island music scene promoting shows, running
sound for Live in the Lobby at the Patchogue Theatre and recording many
of the Islands top musicians in his studio.  Check out his web site at www.paradiddlerecords.com.
