Bio
John Combs has been playing guitar for nearly his whole life. Growing up he listened to his favorite artists such as Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. He was enrolled in guitar lessons at the age of 12 and studied under Bobby Baldwin, who had worked with Carlos Santana and Greg Martin. He later joined Bobby’s band and played at many venues around Kentucky. They also wrote music together and recorded with Constellation Records.
John took a break from music in 1999 to join the army where he worked as a loader for M1A1 tanks. He was honorably discharged and jumped back into music immediately, touring with soul/gospel group, The Mighty Sensations.
He went on to record vocals for a Christian album, write and record and original song for Van Heusen greeting cards, and continue writing and recording his own music. An active member of ASCAP, John has written and co-written over 100 songs.
John Combs currently resides in Glasgow, KY where he has been writing new songs and recording for an upcoming album. He plays live shows solo or with a backing band and sings original music as well as an extensive catalog of covers.
