---- et cetera-----
Jim has mellowed from a punk rock beginning. Major influences include late 1980's punk, then Grateful Dead, Richard Thompson, Cat S, Lucinda W, and other popular singer/songwriter types.
Currently Jim is performing solo acoustic and with a gtr/bass/drums trio "JB + Band." As Jim notes "playing with a band gives a great sound and is super fun, but for delivering a story and the attending strong emotions, solo acoustic is the best format. That is why I like to do a variety of gig-types."
International travel has really helped Jim understand the human condition in all its glory - China, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Guatemala, Salvador, Belize, Mexico, Canada, England.
Noted for his clear yet quirky story-telling and strong, rocking, hooky musical style, Jim provides a new and unique take on modern rock and folk music. Fellow songwriters have commented on his vivid style, noting that his music and sound come "out of left field" - really unexpected, really great.
