Bio
After diving into the jazz scene for many years, Dan Summers developed a passion for improvisational soloing. He and his alto sax had played on a variety of stages in the various jazz bands he played in, always impressing with his funky style and hair-raising high end. In 2014, Dan wanted to shift away from what was traditional in the jazz scene. Born was the idea of Jerry Springer Reject. Traditional jazz is structured, scripted music played by bands with specific designated sections in the songs for soloing. The idea for Jerry Springer Reject was flip the structure on its head: feature the improvisational soloing predominantly and have the written music bring along the groove of the tunes.
