The Acoustic Evenings series at the Athenaeum showcases some of the finest acoustic musicians in San Diego. Three acts fill each program and attentive audiences delight in the intimacy of the unplugged storytelling format. Jeff Bloom. Singer / Songwriter / Musician.
Bloom originally gained much of his notoriety and fame from the 80s group Army of Love that opened for the Kinks, INXS, REM, English Beat, The Wailers and others, with their songs playing regularly on the 91X radio station.
Jeff Bloom has performed & recorded w/ members of Greyboy Allstars, The Voices,
Brian Jordan, Bounty Hunta, Clem Burke, Michael Andrews (Elgin Park),
Go-Gos (Kathy Valentine), Craig Ross (Lenny Kravitz) and more.
His evocative lead riffs and gliding rhythm guitar influences have been a staple in many local rock, reggae and funk bands over his illustrious 40-year career. He has 4 original albums to his credit with his 2004 release of “New Style” that has become a timeless masterpiece.
