A member of Denton TX-based hip-hop collective Channel X(TEN), Zimbabwe-born/Dallas-bred rapper Jay Luse has released his debut EP, The Soulful Attraction, as part of a DJBooth world premiere. "I hand picked the songs that would display whatever burning desires that you feel in your soul will come to life as you continue to see, accept and work towards the desires of your heart," Jay explained to us via e-mail. "God has a way to bring about divine magnetic forces that will draw towards you as you push towards them in order to obtain all that your soul desires. In other words everything in your heart which you see for your self, and everything you want around you that burns in your soul to achieve will come to life; its the Soulful Attraction." The EP spans nine tracks and includes features from B. Anderson, Coach Tev, Malik Golden, Mecca Dishmon, Mick Jenkins, Pocketbook, Rei Altru and Soleil Blanc. Production is handled by Blue, The Misfit, DailyBreed, Drugs The Model Citizen, The Komposer, Neal Thompson and Pocketbook. Formerly part of the Denton based Hip Hop Collective Channel X (Ten), he is currently working on his debut project “Soulful Attraction” which features this single, “Songs for Champagne (Produced by Drugs the Model Citizen).”
The production is fairly simple using mostly keys and high hats on this beat. This instrumental could be played at a high end hotel bar while patrons drink expensive champagne and cocktails, very classy with a chill melody. The lyrics match the simplicity of the production, which proves that sometimes less IS more. With the cold winter coming at us at full force, this is a great song to snuggle with that someone special by a warm and cozy fire. And don’t forget the Champagne. - Too Fresh

Jason Lusengo aka Jay Luse ( His stage name), is a Zimbabwean born hip hop artist out of Dallas, Texas who was born in Harare, Zimbabwe October, 19th 1992. He was raised in Dallas, TX after spending his first eight years of life in Zimbabwe. Jay Luse is apart of Denton, TX based hip hop collective formally known as Channel X(TEN). He is currently working on his follow up to his debut project 'Soulful Attraction' titled 'The Chord of Life'.
