With school and football being his main focus Jay King never expressed his interest in music which has always been apart of his life. Born Jalen Casey in Youngstown, Ohio his hobbies included football, school, and being active in the church. Growing up listening his fathers music catalog which included hiphop classics inspired Jay at a young age. When he was a senior in high school he began to shift his focus from football to school and writing music as a hobby. With english as his favorite subject he was always a gifted writer. Weather it was dropping freestyles in class or in the lunch among friends, it was always show. It wouldn’t be until he graduated and went to college that music would be apart Jay’s identity. Known for having a way with words this young hiphop artist met up with producer AzBeats, and began to get to work. Influenced by 2 Pac, Jay-Z, The Notorious BIG, and Nas.
