Bio
My name is Jarrod Tylor Allen and I am 18 years old. I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where I now currently reside.
I grew up in a musical home; my father was a guitarist and my mother was a singer. At a young age, I was exposed to many different styles and genres of music. After constantly watching the movie "Crossroads"(the movie about the blues), I chose the guitar as the first instrument I wanted to learn.
Since then, I have learned to play the piano, drums, and bass. I am inspired by many of the greats, but I must say my favorite artists are Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Mayer.
After learning the fundamentals of the guitar , I attended Douglas Anderson School Of The Arts, where I was introduced to jazz and classical guitar. During my high school years, I had the pleasure to play with Marcus Roberts, Jason Marsalis, Gary Coryell, Al Waters(played sax in Ray Charles band) and Rick Grice . One of my goals is to expand this list.
I'd like to say I am a very diverse player, and so is my original music. At the end of the day, I just want to play music that makes me feel good and makes you feel good!
