Although best known for her role as the evil reptilian queen Diana in the pioneering Sci Fi Show "V" and more recently her returrn in the reimagined "V" series, Jane Badler has revitalised her music career in the last 10 years; spanning from Jazz, Cabaret, Indie and more recently a pop recording artist.
Her last two albums were both critically acclaimed and Jane was nominated for the 'Best Female Artist' in the 2011 Age EG Awards for her album with it's tales of betrayal, obsession and the surreal journey of life.
Volcano Boy, Jane's latest single out 31 March, was produced and mixed by Grammy-winning producer Jeff Bova, known for his contributions to hundreds of recordings by significant mainstream artists such as Katy Perry, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Luther Vandross, Eric Clapton, Robert Palmer, Billy Joel, The Bee Gees, Cher, Cyndi Lauper, and many more. - Music Week

Last month, we fell head over heels with the debut British single release from celebrated American actress Jane Badler, who’s now based in Australia. Having made her name playing a string of famous Dianas – twice in V (as both a regular and alien version of the same character) and once as a bitch from hell in Neighbours. However, after making the transition to recording artist following a collaboration with Sir half a decade ago, Badler finally decided to bite the bullet and bring her songs to these shores.
As we noted in our Singles of the Week where we scored the song a full 5/5, ‘Losing You’ is nothing short of genius. Vocally it has echoes of Alison Moyet, sonically it takes Anggun’s penchant for pop and fuses it flawlessly with the edgy, credible depth of Kelis’ latest project, Food. Somewhere in there you can even find subtle nods to Kylie’s wilderness years. Yet all this is delivered with a finesse that is only ever found in Badler’s work.
Now, we are thrilled to reveal the magical music video for the song. Badler oozes sex appeal in this subtly comedic ode to times past and loves forgotten. - http://sosogay.co.uk/

Need some alternative music in your life? We’ve got it covered…
Eyes closed, half awake you’re neither asleep nor alert. Hidden in the subconscious of your mind, dreams from the depths of your imagination being to appear. Scenes of butterflies covering your head, visions of naked men playing ukuleles like rock gods and creepy twins standing motionless. OH WAIT.
That wasn’t a dream! We just watched Jane Badler’s latest video for the new single Losing You. You may know her best from the 2009 remake of the sci-fi cult TV show, V. No longer Diana The Lizard Queen, Jane is set for her release of debut UK album Opus.
Being the natural rebel she is, Jane said: “I had just finished two albums as the muse for a writer when I decided to write my own album. My record company at the time suggested I try a covers album, but I started the long foolhardy journey of writing my own album.”

Bio
Fans of the hit Sci-Fi series ‘V’ will be excited to see Dianna The Lizard Queen emerging from the world of cult TV and exploding onto the music scene with her AA side ‘Losing You’ and ‘Volcano Boy’. The single, her debut in the UK, will be released on 7th July on Mejane Productions via XXXX.
‘Losing You’ is a dark 80’s cabaret style synth pop release reminiscent of Hazel O Connor or Toyah in they hey day. It’s expectedly quirky from a lady who spent much of her career breeding lizards on a mission to destroy the human race. Two stunning videos accompany the release. ‘Volcano Boy’ is a Dollar-esque fantasy epic about the boy from the Volcano… a laid back, kitsch disco tune, swirling from your speakers like dry ice on the dancefloor.
‘Losing You/ Volcano Boy’, has been produced and mixed by Grammy-winning producer Jeff Bova, who has also worked with the likes of: Katy Perry, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Luther Vandross, Eric Clapton, Robert Palmer, Billy Joel, The Bee Gees, Cher, Cyndi Lauper, and many more. Her band includes; Jeff on keyboards, legendary Bruce Springsteen & Bon Jovi guitarist Tim Pierce, LA percussionist Rafa Padilla and on backing vocals Bernard Fowler who’s a regular vocalist with The Rolling Stones and Carol Hatchett of Bette Midler’s Harlettes.
Jane Badler, who played the role of Dianna in both the original series and the seminal re-imagined 2011 version of ‘V’, is also an accomplished songstress who has worked with some of the industry greats over the years including XXX. Her early years were spent in New York, competing in the Miss America Pageant as a beauty queen, later becoming a drama student, before embarking on a successful career as a professional actress on stage and screen in the US for many years, eventually ending up in Melbourne where she became a stalwart on the Aussie show Neighbours.
In 2008 Jane released her debut CD outside of the UK “The Devil Has My Double” with the Melbourne band Sir, followed in 2011 with ‘Tears Again’, she has also worked with internationally acclaimed producer Paul Grabowsky to deliver a record that reflects Jane’s long and varied career in Hollywood B films and television soaps throughout the 70s and 80s. The album pays homage to the melodrama of the era and earned her a nomination for ‘Best Female Artist’ at the AGE awards.
