Born Carlington Gordon on June 28, 1985, JamaicanCee is an unsigned rap artist from Lake Worth, FL. He moved to Florida from Jamaica in 1995 at the age of 10, where he was introduced to hip-hop. He instantly fell in love with the attention grabbing sound. JamaicanCee began writing music at a tender age of 12 however; he began to take his music career seriously in 2008, when he began to work on his first mixtape. Only to be put on hold due to a run in with law enforcement. JamaicanCee used the time in prison to fine-tune his writing skills as well as his rapping style. . "I started rapping and writing in prison as a way to escape the reality of serving time.” Once he got out, he decided to make his rap career the main focus and be part of the music industry. When asked why he create the music he does, he replied “To tell my story and possible others can learn from my mistakes in life.”
JamaicanCee personifies the struggle, the streets and the power of his lyrics. Few years after his release, he is well on his journey to be South Florida’s newest and realest rapper.
JamaicanCee credit artists such as Soulja Slim, Jay-Z, snoop Dog, Tribe call Quest and Fugees, just to name a few, as his inspiration. He remain real to his root and make music which reflects that. “I put in a lot of work of and time to perfect my craft so I can deliver quality music to my fans.”
