On Friday February 21st, 2014; The energies were rising in the small intimate space of the Bovine Sex Club. Despite the bitter wind that blew outside. The night was filled with heavy riffs, grooving breakdowns and shredding solo’s. The Heavy Press’ Anna Sklavos was there to catch every moment of raw energy coming from the stage.
Whether it was the tasty guitar riffs from In A Cannon, the powerhouse array of vocals from Red Handed Denial or the high energy pouring off stage from Mirrelia. Dawn Vally’s low, groovy and heavy sound; not only slowed down the night but hit it hard and brought a perfect ending to a night of an amazing showcase of local talent. - The Heavy Press

Bio
Hailing from Mississauga, ON, In A Cannon was conceived in March 2012. The 5-piece outfit is composed of Ryan Winter (vocals), Michael Steenburgh (guitar), David Hagan (guitar), Matthew Pugh (bass), and Adam Taylor (drums).
In A Cannon debuted at The Rockpile West alongside The Agonist, and have since played with the likes of Arsonists Get All The Girls, Cryptopsy, Wilson, and more. The band’s self-titled EP was released in 2013 at an intimate release show in front of fans, friends, and family. A follow up release, Empires, was recorded at Push Play Studios (Oshawa) and mixed by Ryan MacDonald of Lionheart Studios (Thunder Bay). It was released in 2014 under the tutelage of Oshawa-based label Free Mind Operations.
The band’s offerings are described as “gnarly Canadian party rock”, a fitting moniker for the band’s grimy riffs and intricately articulated rhythms. With a music video, multiple singles, and shows lined up in 2015, it’s easy to see that In A Cannon is gearing up for an explosive year ahead.
