Brazilian born R&B singer Jonathas brings us his 4th and last single from The Foreigner 2 (TF2) with the help of Greezo (member of the LOEGz) & Producer Kickklee as he brings us back to reality and welcomes us to the ‘City of God’. - ThaFixx.com
Sparse drums and the gateway to peace in the face of dealing with the world’s pains. Jonathas’ “City Of God” might sound like the epilogue to another tale in the infamous favela but in its Americanized version, it’s purely a moment to say “things aren’t as bad as you think.” Linking up with Greezo from the League of Extraordinary Gz, Jonathas only delivers a lone verse, choosing to line up the struggle of paying bills and attempting to live above the poverty line, both mentally and financially. All Greezo wants here is to carry on the legacy of Esbe Da 6th Street Bully — a concept that will happen long as he and the Gz continue to make their own strides in ATX. - dayandadream.com
Jonathas has already secured a spot in a few bedroom playlists with his work on his 2012 EP “Numb“. He’s proved to the world that he was more than one hit song with the release of his 2013 mixtape “The Foreigner II” and he won the hearts of many as a contestant on NBC‘s The Voice. Today the Brazil born R&B singer raises the bar by releasing “Let’s Chill,” the first single off of his upcoming project The Foreigner III, hosted by Don Cannon.
“Let’s Chill” is produced by Da Bosnian and features Cory Kendrix (LNS Crew) & Sertified (Die Slo). This is the perfect way to ring in the new year with the one you hold dear. - Digiwaxx

Brazilian-born/Texas-based singer Jonathas enlists rappers Cory Kendrix and Sertified for another one of his raunchy bangers “Let’s Chill,” which is the first single from his upcoming Don Cannon-hosted project, The Foreigner III, a follow-up to The Foreigner II. - Singesroom.com
So Jonathas, he of the serenade your girl and probably steal her variety has figured the best way to slide into your late night New Years playlist. “Let’s Chill” is mid-tempo, pulling no punches when it comes to activity for the night and carnal thoughts as well. Sertified & Cory Kendrix both jump in to smooth out the palate the former Voice singer laid out and what you have is your soundtrack to a night where “let’s chill” really means, “I’m going to put Netflix on until the moment is right.” - dayandadream.com
Usher better watch his back!
Christina Aguilera may have had her poker face on during last night’s The Voice, but the “Beautiful” pop star couldn’t stop smiling for Jonathas' rendition of “You Got It Bad.” Aguilera loved it so much that she turned her chair for the lucky father-of-two, which almost sounds like Usher’s vocal clone.
Is Christina Aguilera's Voice Too Loud on 'The Voice'?
"If I were to make it on a team for 'The Voice,' this would mean the world for my kids," Jonathas mentioned. "This would change their lives. It would give me the satisfaction that my mom didn't bring me here for nothing." Jonathas emigrated from Brazil to the U.S. when he was just 5.
Fellow judge Cee-Lo also happened to pick Jonathas, but the Brazilian singer decided to go on team Aguilera after her convincing pitch. "In my world, in my genre, in my tours, I've gotten to know some of the best choreographers," she said. "I want to mold you and package you and do the right thing by you... now I feel like Cee-Lo."
Super Bowl Ushers in Huge Ratings for 'The Voice'
Cee-Lo joked about X-Tina having ‘package’ on her mind, but it seems to us that she is all about picking up her game. The pop star also landed Monique and Anthony, who rocked Marvin Gaye's classic "What's Goin' On."

Aguilera got off to a strong start, scoring the night's first two contestants (well, the first two who got picked at all, that is). First up was Jonathas, a 23-year-old father of two who moved to the U.S. from Brazil at age 5 to escape poverty and violence. Sounding so much like Usher with his rendition of "U Got It Bad," Jonathas fooled the judges at first. "I thought that was a prank," Cee Lo told the singer. "I thought that was actually Usher."
Again distinguishing what sets "The Voice" apart from its competition, Aguilera, who turned her chair for Jonathas at the last minute, noted that as a pop singer, she has experience with choreography and the inner workings of pop star packaging, things that could aid Jonathas in his quest for stardom. "She's got packages on her mind," Cee Lo joked, trying to steal away the crooner. But it didn't matter, he picked the big-voiced Xtina. - MTV
Life isn’t like the board game Chutes & Ladders, in which shady behavior instantly sends you tumbling down a slide of karmic retribution. In the real world, the future is never Written in Stone, and bad deeds (when done right) often go unpunished—so why not try your luck? On Written in Stone, the latest single and first Booth feature from Jonathas, the Austin-based, Rio de Janeiro-born singer tries a similar line of argument on a female hesitant to cheat on her man, encouraging her to go with the flow and let the consequences sort themselves out. Track Bangas provide a fittingly steamy R&B backdrop for the artist’s seductive vocals, and Jon joins forces with Top Flight Films and Power House Media Production to co-direct the official visuals. For Written in Stone and much more, check out the artist’s Numb EP, available for purchase as of October 16. - DJ BOOTH
After watching weeks and weeks of NBC’s “The Voice”, I’ll be honest with you. I can’t even remember the name of a single singer on the show. It’s not a slight but after being hit over the head with all of the singing shows these past ten years – you start tuning out a bit. Former contestant and Christina Aguliera protege Jonathas Oljeda from Austin decided to break away from the traditional hang ups about reality singing contests by releasing his own R&B flavored EP Numb.
The ATX native enlisted production from Track Bangas & Shawn Dell to coerce people into believing his image as more of a full ranging singer and NUMB proves it with the Spanish guitar flavored “Girl From Portugal”, the pulsating “The One” featuring T. Folwer and the absolutely straight to the point babymaker in “No Rubber”.

Earlier this year, Jonathas made musical mentors CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera spin around in their chairs on the popular singing competition show ‘The Voice’ with his rendition of Usher’s “You Got It Bad.” Even though he didn’t win the second season, he’s released his first project to the world before the actual winner!
“Numb” is the title, though there’s plenty of “feeling” on the 6-track EP as he sexily croons to quiet storm tracks, surely the soundtrack to a night of sex-capades.
Born in Brazil, but raised in Austin, TX since age 4, Jonathas chose to go the R&B route despite industry suggestions that he lean towards pop. He’s influenced by Usher, Chris Brow, J. Holiday, and Ne-Yo, who “was that guy to help me do that when it came to the songwriting, to the concepts, just molding me into that artist.” - SINGERSROOM
In preparation of The Foreigner 2, newcomer Jonathas re-releases “Smokin,” the first single from his 2012 mixtape ‘The Foreigner.’ TF2, Jonathas’ first free project in over a year, is set to drop this Summer. We’ve seen some other vids and songs from him, but never heard this joint, and we’re happy for the re-release/new promotion. You should take the title literally because this is a mad smooth, chill, smokin anthem.

ust in time for summer, The “Voice” alumn and Brazilian-born Jonathas adds more heat to the sweltering temperatures in the form of The Foreigner II, which follows up his 2012 tape The Foreigner and Numb EP.
He makes it no secret that he’s aiming for greatness, as the tape’s intro is a sound bite of the famed “Our Deepest Fear” poem quoted from the movie Coach Carter. The ethereal groove “Let It Go” follows, and the steel drum-driven “Windin’” is sandwiched between the previously released “How I Do” and “Smokin.” He shouts out his home country of Brazil on “Just Travel The World,” and takes a page from LL Cool J’s “Doin It” on “Crazy Love,” one of the set’s many odes to adult playtime. “City of God” provides a spiritual break, which touches upon cherishing life despite its adversities.

Letting loose yet another mixtape for the masses, it’s apparent that not most can quite match the work ethic of R&B artist, Jonathas. Right in time for your summer fix, the singer’s sequel to his The Foreigner mixtape and followup to his Numb EP is here, adding more heat to the what should prove to be a hot summer of Austin music. On this 11-track cut, Jonathas doesn’t tackle it all alone as he enlists assistance from the likes of Chris Landry, Billionaire B and Austin’s own Greezo. Press play on the embedded player to hear the full-length mixtape in all of its glory, and be sure to grab it while it’s still free for download. - thesuperlative.com
Jonathas already secured a spot in a few bedroom playlists with his work on his 2012 EP Numb but following it up with a multitude of tracks for his latest mixtape The Foreigner II is his best attempt to secure a straight up playlist for himself and himself alone. The tape’s closer “Underneath The Covers” instantly burns through any thoughts of coy niceness from the singer as well as “Marijuana Chick” which could be easily interpreted as a distant cousin of Numb‘s “Girl From Portugal”. Greezo of the League Of Extraordinary G’z, Fitness, Billionaire B, Lil Juan and more help out on the 11-track mixtape which bends around sensuality and lonerism, such as the standout homage to his birthplace of Brazil “City Of God”. - Day & A Dream

Thus far in 2013, Jonathas has covered his proclivities in the sexual arena (No Rubber) and his fondness for the herb (Smokin). Evidently, he wasn’t quite satisfied with his treatment of the former topic, as it’s back to the bedroom for his latest effort. On freshly-released single How I Do, a piano-led KE on the Track production backs the artist as he fills a new girl in on what she can expect between the sheets. Over the course of the cut, he switches fluidly between sung vocals and rapped bars. Singer Chris Landry provides additional vocals. Feeling it? You’ll be able to hear more from the unsigned crooner on The Foreigner 2, scheduled to drop digitally this May. - DJBooth.net
Jonathas readies his second mixtape, The Foreigner 2 (TF2), with the first single “How I Do,” another one of his signature “put it down” bedroom tracks. Blu Kolla Dreams’ Chris Landry comes on board to lend a verse, and the two Texans ride out the laid back, piano-led track. The Foreigner 2 will drop exclusively on Singersroom on May 21. - Singersroom.com

Written in Stone singer Jonathas is willing to do just about whatever his girl likes in the sexual arena—the position, the pace and the location are all up for grabs. He has just one request: he wants to do it with No Rubber. Released in honor of Valentine’s Day, this freshly-selected EP single sees the unsigned crooner rhapsodizing about the pleasure of raw-dogging it over a leisurely, synth-driven instrumental by Action Figures beatsmith Shawn Dell. The finished product is so catchy I almost want to give the man a pass on practicing unsafe sex. Let’s just assume he left out the part where he got a vasectomy and had both himself and his partner tested for STDs. In any case, fans can find No Rubber and much more where it came from on Jonathas’ Numb EP, available online as of October. - DJBooth.net
Jonathas might be rolling up a bit too much because the indie artist recently released Smokin, a track that was a part of his 2012 mixtape, The Foreigner. Actually, while he may be engulfed in clouds of kush, he does know just what he’s doing; Smokin is so dope (pun very intended) that Jonathas had to unleash it onto the masses for a second time, in anticipation of The Foreigner 2 (TF2). On the record, the Brazilian R&B crooner lights things up as Vinay The Producer’s clean, piano-driven boardwork saunters underneath him. With a breezy, smoother-than-silk vocal performance Jonathas takes an interesting approach to the hobby. Some seek Mary Jane to help fix their problems, but Jonathas reminds us “don’t worry about your problems, you ain’t gotta solve them, they’ll be there tomorrow.” High off just one listen? If If so, then be sure to take another hit when TF2 is released this summer. - DJBooth.net

AUSTIN -- The Austin tradition, The Trail fo Lights, returns after a two year hiatus.
Thousands gathered Sunday night as the one-mile trail was lit.
But some people complained about a near two-hour wait for the shuttle at Kreig Field. The wait was blamed on traffic.
Organizers think about 60,000 people came out for opening night, and they expect 250,000 will walk the trail during the eight nights of the festival.
Executive Director of the Run Tex Foundation James Russel said they were able to help bring the festival back to Austin because of the private sector.
"We were able to raise the money privately so it's not costing the taxpayers of Austin anything to produce this event," said Russell.
Live performers included Austin resident Jonathas Ojeda, who was featured on NBC's "The Voice" and Jerry Jeff Walker.
The lights will be on through Sunday, Dec. 23 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. each night.

Season two’s “The Voice” contestant Jonathas Ojeda is striking out without the help of the popular singing completion with “Written in Stone,” the first single from his five-track EP “Numb.” The Brazilian-born singer’s soulful voice led him to the decision to stick with R&B as his heart’s choice. "I had to find myself. A&R's I've met with wanted me to go more Pop. During the recording process I decided I’m sticking with the R&B sound," he said.

Jonathas puts together an extremely great EP with “Numb.” The songs are very relatable for everyone, male or female. The songs paint a picture with each verse of the sweet, romantic, sexual fantasies everyone has every now and then about that one person. Jonathas’ smooth lyrics go great, complimenting even the production done by Track Bangas, Shawn Dell, and Billionaire B. These producers provide the perfect sound to go along with the sultry lyrics of Jonathas, elevating the project to that of one that could rival your favorite R&B singer’s full length album. - Fresh Prince

AUSTIN (KXAN) - An Austin singer is making some serious noise on the NBC show " The Voice ."
Jonathas Ojeda's show-stopping performance earned him a lot of attention from the fans -- and the judges. He sang a version of "U Got It Bad" by Usher. Ojeda broke into a dance during the song, earning screams of joy from the audience.
At that point, "The Voice" judge Cee Lo Green spun his chair around -- signaling that he wanted Ojeda on his team. That's just what Ojeda had hoped for going into the show.
"I went into it thinking I was going to go with Cee Lo," Ojeda said. "I watched him last season. Very good guy, just him as a musician -- extraordinary."
But judge Christina Aguilera also turned her chair, setting up a choice for the Austin singer.
"It was actually a very hard decision," Ojeda remembered.
In the end, he chose Team Christina.
"I just thought that Christina fought for me a lot harder and offered me a lot more."
Ojeda shared his story live Monday on KXAN News Today and performed his original song "You Make It Hard To Love Again" live on KXAN News at Noon.
In the second video attached to this story, Ojeda gives us a taste of his vocal range -- a sign of what may be coming on this season of "The Voice." (Video courtesy: CW Star Mic Trotty )
Originally from Brazil, Ojeda spent one month on a ship with his mother when he was 4 years old to migrate to the United States.
Learning English through movies and music, he quickly gained a love for the arts.
Ojeda would like to win "The Voice" to achieve the American Dream, as well as provide his family with financial stability.

- MTV.COM
Just when you think Ducky will be the most unusual moniker for an artist that only goes by one name, in strolls Jonathas, 23, a Brazil native who has two adorable children and wants to live the American dream by winning a reality show. He confidently croons Usher’s “U Got It Bad” while grooving around on stage, and Cee Lo and Christina spin around. Christina smartly took stock of the female reaction in the studio audience during the performance, and notes that the ladies love Jonathas. Cee Lo tries to bribe Jonathas with jewelry. Christina raves about how she wants to package him and mold him, which causes the rest of the judges to smirk like middle schoolers. After noting that he had the hots for Ms. Aguilera after hearing “Genie in a Bottle” in elementary school, Jonathas goes with Christina

Bio
When the world describes the phrase “Nothing to Something”, one talented artist comes to mind and that would be Jonathas. The Austin, TX-Based, Rio De Janeiro- Born R&B singer/songwriter has immensely placed a heightened energy force back into the Rhythm and Blues world.
At the age of four, Jonathas alongside his mother and 2 brothers migrated to the United States into Houston, Texas. For several years he traveled back and forth from Houston to Austin as his mother made ends meet. He had to learn the struggle & grind at a young age as his family lived in a car and meals were leftovers from customers at his mother’s place of employment at a local restaurant. To make time pass, Jonathas would listen/study music and found an endless passion for the art.
“I grew up imitating, wanting to be with the greats, artists like Usher, Boyz II Men, and Ginuwine; these musicians taught me English” Around his teenage years, Jonathas discovered his gift as he became on of the top south voices bringing his middle school choir to multiple University Interscholastic League titles, as well as the leader of his church choir. At the age of 15, he began to shape his craft by writing and recording his first LP “History in the Making”.
By the age of 24, Jonathas worked and performed alongside many of the most renown R&B recording artists such as Ne-Yo, The Dream, Pleasure P, Lyfe Jennings, to name a few. He also worked with many Hip Hop legends like Snoop Dogg, Bun-B, Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, and Dorrough. He worked behind the scenes penning for multiple production teams such as Grammy Award Winning J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, DJ Khaled's We The Best Producers, The Renegades, and Atlanta hit maker KE.
By 2010, Jonathas was featured as the only R&B act on the SXSW 'Best of Texas' Showcase. Two years later, he was featured on season 2 of NBC's The Voice as a member of Christina Aguilera's Team. By 2014, he released The Foreigner 3 (TF3) Hosted by DEF JAMs A&R VP Don Cannon. In 2015, Jonathas took a hiatus after he suffered the loss of his sister, but decided to come back even stronger than ever.
In the past year, Jonathas released his “L.i.F.e.” EP which was written and produced by Kydd Jones. The duo came together to simply make something fresh. After a long acquaintance, the two started collaborating and then decided to make a joint project. The process was fluid in exchange in ideas and creative direction, and thus “L.i.F.e.” was born.
Jonathas shows how adaptable he is in showing many different styles while using his pin-point lyricism in order to give insight into his views as well as bestowing words of wisdom to those in need.
While many faced some sudden challenges due to COVID-19, Jonathas stayed locked in the studio recording & perfecting his craft bringing the completion to his new album "Vibrations" with features from Doeman & Killa Kyleon. Available now on all platforms.
Jon will be performing at SXSW 2021 & is also rumored to be recruiting Tyler Lepley of the hit show P-Valley on STARZ for some heartfelt R&B/POP anthems.
