Bio
Ife Samms is a Brooklyn-based, Mixed-Raced Carribbean-American, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer with an original, unheard-of approach to the Christian-Pop genre.
She made her debut as the frontwoman, lead vocalist, and bass player for the Binghamton-based Funk band, The Funkophiles in 2012. From there they went on to win Binghamton University’s competitive “Battle of the Bands 2014,” performed at the university’s annual “Spring Fling” Concert, and opened for the likes of headliners Matt and Kim, RDGLDGRN, and Joey Bada$$.
As a solo artist, Ife is known for her uniquely creative approach to cover songs, colorfully thoughtful original music, and personable nature in her live performances. Her music is said to be intellectually-stimulating, spiritually moving, and easily relatable. Her music exists somewhere between a fusion of Pop, Funk, Gospel, Folk, Reggae, and the Avante-Garde genres. Her sound can be described as a mixture between Imogen Heap, Janet Jackson, Jonathan Butler, and Bob Marley.
This music will soothe your heart and encourage your soul.
