I Like Dakota

In late 2012 Matthew Hammond was preparing for his departure from a 7 year journey in a Art academy from middle school to high school. After studying music for 7 years he decided his departure would be best fit with a musical performance. He asked 3 of his cohorts who studied music as well if they would join him. The 4 young musicians began practicing and due to the nature of their prepared performance pushing 'too many boundaries' they were unable to perform for the departure. They then decided they would begin writing their own music. A specific style of taking all their pain and negativity towards the world and turning it into a positive song or chord progression. In 2014 they began releasing finished demo music and in in 5 months hit 5,000 views with absolutely no sort of fame or recognition amongst anyone. In June they began gigging and as of now have played at the Alberta Rose Theatre, the Bossanova Ballroom, and Dante's bar, all downtown Portland, Oregon. They are now branching outward with their music and attempting to meet new people, see new places, and most importantly let more people hear their music.
