Hopetoun

In the natural habitatthat cradles New Orleans and the surroundingLouisiana area, there are rivers, bayous, inlets, lakes, and isles that all connect to create a diverse and colorful image of lifestyles--family, fun, and food!Similarly, Hopetoun band members came together in the summer of 2010 andconnected in a natural and instantly purposeful manner. Committed to originality and putting in the hard work needed to sustain that objective, the group has still managed to record and perform with some recognition.In November they released their firstsix song EP at the always festive Le Bon Temps Roule on Magazine Street in New Orleans. Thisevent followeda September performance at the Howlin' Wolf also in New Orleans where Hopetoun opened for the Rebirth Brass Band!

The sound is so catching that a new genre has been defined. This style, called "lyrical groove," incorporates other genres at times, but with unique style and dance-like punch:A solid horn middle, stellar rhythmwith full percussion, and unforgettable bass playing topped with the new addition of Kevin O'Day, local New Orleans drummer of considerable renown. Finally withsongwriter David Einzig's unique lyrical style and guitar, the connectivity is complete - friends, fun, and furthering social, environmental, and musical goals! A vibrant and refreshing sound has emerged from the spirit of New Orleans.
