Sounding like a mix between Slug, Mr J. Medeiros, and Brother Ali, he cuts right to the core of underground hip hop...We need more true artists like Homeless. - Hummingbeat
[The] van Gobots firmly establishes itself among the Twin Cities’ most satisfying, ear-pummeling acts...— the kind of pugilistic, politicized post-punk that hopefully never goes out of style. - The Onion AV Club Twin Cities
The lighter moments on Twenty-Dirt certainly give the album a nice balance, letting the listener know that, despite all the problems that surround him, Homeless is still able to enjoy the simple things in life...the band works up a nice post-punk racket for Homeless' rhymes. - Flatbasset
After hearing the first 20 seconds of the opening track “Truce” my ears instantly perked up, I had never heard a sound quite like this. The blend of The van Gobots Alt-Rock and the Hip-Hop style of Homeless meshed together better than I could have imagined, creating something unbelievably chill, smooth, and original. Rarely am I able to listen to an entire album the whole way through without thinking at some point “this isn’t their best song,” but “Twenty-Dirt” is a definite exception to this. Without even knowing it, I had listened to the entire album from start to finish, with no lulls, amazed at how much I enjoyed each and every track. - Minnesnowta Music Blog

Bio
Homeless is a rapper from Minneapolis. The van Gobots are a band from Minneapolis. They began collaborating in 2013 and released their full-length album Twenty-Dirt later that year. Rock, but not rock music; hip-hop but not hip-hop music, their album Twenty-Dirt is the product of two distinct styles, weaved together, to create an equally intricate and laid back vibe.
The van Gobots' post-punk influences and song writing tenure, combined with Homeless's history in the spectrum of both rap music and poetry, unite to deliver emotive guitars, tight rhythms, and incisive lyrics.
Homeless & The van Gobots performed at Red Gorilla Music Festival (Austin, TX) and Heart of Texas Rockfest (Austin, TX) in 2014.
