HollowScape

HollowScape is the idea of making a wish. Specifically wishing on a dandelion. Watching the dead remains of once was, be blown away in the wind and hoping... dreaming... that one day it can grow to be something more. Something bigger than what once was, a new dream... A dandelion's stem is called a hollow scape.

Brenton Houvener and Sarah Zylstra started HollowScape on a whim. They initially only intended to do a single open mic and leave it at that, however when asked to play an impromptu set at their school it went so well and they received so much positive feedback that they decided to continue pursuing this project as the duo HollowScape. Planning to record a full length EP in the fall of 2016, HollowScape is a new dream of it's creators, one they hope to see blossom into something much bigger and brighter then they had ever dreamed.

Both Brenton and Sarah greatly admire the styles and flow of the post-rock and indie sounds, this style inspires many of their original songs both in theme, lyric and melody. Being inspired by the downtrodden negativity of their youth, HollowScape wishes to be a light in a dark world by showing others that they are not going through their struggles alone. Weather it be a light rain or a downpour of sleet and hail nothing is impossible to get through when you have people at your back and a friend to lift you up.

HollowScape will be releasing their first single "What You Need" in July of 2016 and will continue to play around both the Chicago and Indianapolis areas.
