From many different musical backgrounds, Hip Gypsy has come together to form a band that reaches into many genres in their original music. From hard hitting Rock to Reggae, Funk, Blues, and Soul Hip Gypsy has formed an alliance sure to thrill the ears of any musical connoisseur. Hip Gypsy came to life in May of 2017 and is taking the region by storm. Grinding out tunes in the basement of the guitar player's house all summer long has lead them to writing enough originals to produce an EP. The band's front man, TJ Darnell has a definite pull to the crowd as he sings and plays. His on stage performance has brought much to the table, and can only be explained or understood by watching him perform live. With a central location in Bristol, Virginia they are pursuing venues in Eastern and Central Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Northern North Carolina, and Southern Kentucky and West Virginia. Due to there eclectic backgrounds, their sound goes from one end of the spectrum to the other, and everywhere in between. Musical influences from different eras and genres are heard throughout their shows and have a definite impact on their crowds.
