"REVIEW: damaged art by hidden figures"

Hidden Figures from Worcester, MA is back with their fourth song called “Damaged Art” from their upcoming EP “For the Both of Us”. It hits close to home for anyone who lost someone in their lives recently, as it touches on the topic of their personal experiences after losing their friend and bandmate Timothy Plouffe. There are countless amounts of struggles and grief when losing someone, but lyrics such as “And I know that I was meant to be something more than damaged art” show that they are moving forward in honor of him and continuing his legacy with this dedicated track. Produced by Ricky Armellino of Ice Nine Kills, who also makes a special guest appearance, the song features bouncy guitar riffs in the verses and open chords in the choruses, syncopated drum grooves to match the guitars, and some aggressive vocals. Anyone who’s a fan of metalcore-structured songs will also be a fan of this so go check it out!

Bio

Hidden Figures is an American Metalcore band from Worcester, Massachusetts formed in 2020 by Rikky Fay and Casey Evans. The band was formed after their previous band Kerrigan was put on indefinite hiatus after the passing of their Guitarist Tim Plouffe. The two were joined by other members of Kerrigan, Zach Sharp and Devin LaPlaca, new to the lineup however the band is being fronted by vocalist Nick Farrar

In March of 2020 the band went into the studio with Ian Van Opijnen (The Echoroom in Uxbridge, Ma) to record their 2 debut singles "Nothing You Could Say" and "Don't Let The Door Hit You on the Way Out". During production, the band teamed up with Dan Hourihan (Music video director for bands such as Ice Nine Kills, Hawk, and We Came As Romans) to tackle the challenge of bringing their vision to life

Strongly influenced by bands such as Like Moths to Flames, Wage War, Polaris, In Hearts Wake, and Fit For A King, Hidden Figures is currently in the studio with Ricky Armellino  (Ice Nine Kills, Hawk) in Lancaster, PA working on their debut album "For the Both of Us" which will feature guest appearances from Ryan Kirby of Fit For A King and Ricky Armellino of Ice Nine Kills and Hawk to be released later in 2021.
