Radio Interview on KillJoy XM Radio -
Hevewae is another Washington, DC area Hip-Hop emcee whose music is in the realm of what is known in the region as Crank Muzik. It’s a sound that can fit in with any of the latest Southern Hip-Hop joints blasting on the radio and video channels now.
Hevewae
Hevewae
HeveWae (pronounced Heavy-way) started writing and rapping at the age of 15. After 6 years of performing, writing, and recording with a group, he went solo. He invented a new style called Ruffcore and developed a publishing company through BMI and also created his own independent record label called Ruffcore Ent Group.
Considering that Hevewae was born with a hearing impairment as well as a mild speech problem, he surely has achieved a fair deal thus far. Hevewae said it was hard for people to accept him, but with the blessing of the Lord, he pressed on. And pressed on he has, right now Hevewae has a new single bubbling under, entitled, “BOUT IT”.
Hevewae
Hevewae
On the grand scale of hip hop, I’d place Hevewae as slightly left of center. He’s eons more thoughtful than anything you’ll hear on the radio, while his rhymes and topics are more self-aware and conscious than most of the hip hop mainstream. As often as us media folk do though, I don’t want to overstate how great “BOUT IT” is, as Hevewae doesn’t recreate the wheel here but he’s a dope lyricist and put together a great track worth your time and money.
Hevewae possesses the lyrical prowess, flow, and personality needed to eventually succeed in the rap game. Lyrically, he is an extremely clever rapper dropping gems that will surely not go over casual fans heads. Without getting too long-winded, Hevewae delivers the goods on “BOUT IT”, with an intense and vibrant rapping style, together with an excellent production.
Hevewae’s been making amazing music for a long time now. He is living proof that Hip hop hasn’t died, you just have to look harder for good music! -

Straight outta DC comes an MC with a lot of originality, he goes by the name of Heve-E-Wae and this is his brand new EP Entitled 'The Underground Beast: Bammas Don't Know'. He takes it back to the days of illmatic with this one. His unique flow blesses tracks like 'Faces' and 'How Will I Live'. Perhaps the best tune on the EP is the title track 'Bammas Don't Stop'. Overall Hev-e-wae comes strong on this EP and should go places in the future. To support this cat and buy this EP check out - Rago Mag in uk

After the underground success of Hevewae’s ‘The Underground Beast 2: Heve N Duh Game’ release, The Underground Beast is back with more of that Maryland funk! It’s a hard-hitting club banger that is rocking the airwaves in the US and is something that I’m sure fans of Southern and West Coast fans would enjoy. ‘Hood Pride’ has a totall original vibe with its almost spooky and energetic vibe. Tracks like this show you how diverse the world of Hip-Hop is in 2006. Loving the whole vibe here and this is the perfect tonic until he unleashes his next CD.

Hevewae (a.k. Mr. DMV) is another Washington, DC area Hip-Hop MC who's music is in the realm of what is known in the region as Crank Muzik - what I look at as more 21st Century Forward Crunk Hip-Hop style of vibe. I've seen his releases, promotions and things out heavy while doing my travels around the DC Metro area and checked out the MySpace page.
The bro definitely has some energetic, tear the club up street Hip-Hop music going on that I think can fit in with any of the lastest Southern Hip-Hop joints on blast on the radio and video channels now and hopefully, this young bro can get signed and/or some solid distribution with someone who's quality to get the music out there to more of the masses.
Check out the "What It Do Moe" single featuring Babylon from this upcoming street album release in March 2008, "The Ill" to get a gauge on where folks are at that we chose here over at BlackRadioIsBack.com and also give a listen to "Hood Pride" on the MySpace page. - Blackradioisback.com
