Bio
Handsome is a four-piece rock band from Boston, MA. Their music is largely influenced by 1990’s indie rock, as well as the post hardcore and alternative bands of that decade. The sound is dynamic and jagged both instrumentally and vocally. Melodic guitar licks glide over abrasive backing chords while the freight train bass mixes with riot grrrl style drum beats. All around, there is just as much whispering as there is screaming. The lyrical subject matter includes the liberation and self actualization of trans/queer folks, people of color, immigrants, and women, as well as class struggle, corporate greed, defiance, fear, loss, ambivalence, desire, and isolation. Handsome’s first record is entitled About Survival which was recorded by Marc Valois at Deadmoon Audio in Somerville, MA.
