Music can become timeless, bringing people together, evoking memories. In the last 50 or so years we have witnessed a handful of bands whose impact is so broad as to inspire tribute bands: the Beatles, Kiss, Pink Floyd and Queen, among others. Now, some talented local musicians have come together to form Gypsy, a band which faithfully recreates the sound and songs of Fleetwood Mac. Gypsy performs a free show starting 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at Appleton Harley-Davidson, 2501 Hwy. 41A Bypass. Dee Miller and Kenny Hummer have been performing together for many years. Last September, Kenny proposed an idea: “Dee, let’s put together a Fleetwood Mac tribute band.” Dee’s voice is strong, and similar in many ways to Stevie Nicks, of whom she is a big fan. She was immediately on board. Kenny and Dee rounded up Mark Williamson (drums) and Mat Carfi (guitar) to start the process.
