Bio
Gray Tolhurst is an musician based in San Francisco,CA where he resides in an old convent. His music is a blend of psychedelia, folk, and shoegaze. He takes inspiration from the psychedelic pop sensibilities of the Beach Boys and the Beatles as well as the disparate strains of American and British folk music, shoegaze, and the minimal music of La Monte Young and Terry Riley. This eclecticism was inspired by his early introduction to a diverse array of music by his father, Laurence Tolhurst, drummer and keyboardist of 1980s rock band The Cure.
He released his first self-titled album in June 2016 and also plays in psych-rock band the Coo Coo Birds.
