"Seattle Review of GOLD TRASH - "Weird Cities""

With a clear intention of taking no prisoners, Gold Trash’s EP Weird Cities opens with a raw energy incorporating electronic, pop and at times punk sensibilities. This is perhaps best embodied in the opening track “Facts,” where the heady refrain states, “I’m scared of everything and everybody dies,” over a pounding bassline with the lyrics being unapologetically propelled into your brain. - Distinction Music Management

"Can Glasss Records Become the Warhol Factory of Denver?"

“We just saw this guy beating the shit out of his guitar,” says KoKo LA, from the band RAREBYRD$, about the first time she saw Vahco Before Horses play at Mutiny Information Cafe. “I just knew I wanted to work with him.”
After introducing herself to him, KoKo LA and her musical partner, Key-Lady, discovered that Before Horses was more than just a compelling performer. He was also a wealth of musical knowledge and experience who wanted to connect and create community.

“He gave us a place to practice and hone our craft,” Key-Lady says. “We all felt like we’ve always known each other. It’s a lot easier to create when everyone involved is your homie.”....... - Denver Westword

"About Vahco Before Horses...."

The attack softened him. “I became more emotional, and I discovered keyboards,” he says. He met a friend with a drum machine, and they started playing together. Around that time, he also started listening to Depeche Mode. “That opened up a whole new planet for me with electronic production.”

As the decade wore on, his musical taste continued to expand; he started listening to hip-hop, enamored with its style, its punk-like, hard-edged attitude and the way it was produced. By 1987, he had acquired his first synthesizers and samplers. Two years later, he started producing hip-hop. - Denver Westword

Bio

With a clear intention of taking no prisoners, Gold Trash’s EP Weird Cities opens with a raw energy incorporating electronic, pop and at times punk sensibilities. This is perhaps best embodied in the opening track “Facts,” where the heady refrain states, “I’m scared of everything and everybody dies,” over a pounding bassline with the lyrics being unapologetically propelled into your brain.

They keep up their momentum throughout the album, even when switching to a more down-tempo beat. “Quiet Violence” is the perfect soundtrack to a stoney, rainy day, with a more minimal approach that allows the group to play with sonic instrumentation. Following in quick pursuit, “Edgelord” evokes a comparison to the band Warpaint; with edge-filled lyrics over a simple, driving beat the track embodies a mood all of us know so well.
