“Glorious unpacks her own musical identity with bravery and boldness, providing an empowering anthem for listeners…” It [Move] thrives off Glorious’ powerful voice leveraging an infectious beat.” - Jamsphere
“Move, is a hugely infectious pop track. Brilliant beat…a funky, driving bassline and a lead vocal from Glorious that is by turns smoky and sultry then exultant and powerful on the incendiary chorus.” - The Faulkner Review
“Sultry new song ‘Move’ from the up-and-comer, Glorious, is a fun, fresh pop song with many layers and genre-bending influences. Her voice is so lovely – like Whitney Houston and Karen Carpenter collaborated in heaven.” - TheMusic.Reviews
“Glorious’ voice exhibits a sense of command… she offers an organic sincerity that has long since been missing in modern music.” - MusicExistence
"A fantastic showing of powerful vocals wrapped around a club-banger beat with high-end production." - The Ark of Music
This [Move] feels like a classic pop track but with an edge of weight and intensity that modern mainstream music has been crying out for.” - Stereo Stickman
“The livetronica drummer [Glorious] takes us through a mix of upbeat rhythms and opalescent synths. The tune [Move] is much more turbulent even though it’s more conceptually grounded by the vocals.” - XXTTRAWAVE
“With rhythmically charged beats and pop-funk, we are feeling the groove with ‘Move,’ the new single from Glorious. ‘Move’ is a track which should put Glorious on any A&R watch list…” - Sound and Track Magazine
NORTHWEST -- With its sweeping views of the city, the scene at the W Washington, D.C. hotel's rooftop lounge was positively glorious over the weekend.
Literally, in fact, with self-described 'livetronica' performer Glorious commandeering the stage at P.O.V on Friday and Saturday nights, for an exclusive series of shows.
The performances were part of the hotel's unique, on-going programming initiative dubbed 'W Happenings', which blends elements of music, art, fashion, and popular culture.
Guests were initially greeted at the door by the resounding beats of DJ Tempo and DJ Oz on Friday and Saturday evenings, respectively.
Glorious then joined them at the front of the room for a collaborative concert, which saw popular house, progressive house, trance, and electro music blended with live drum set remixes.
A Pop/R&B singer and Hip-Hop/Pop/R&B producer, in addition to her skills on the drums, the D.C. native pulls from her production and design background at Berklee College to create an original sound that inspires and energizes audiences.
The end result is a gloriously good time. - Revamp
The electronic dance music culture is known for its high energy, beat pumping, epic productions from some of the greatest producers from around the globe. Now there’s a new girl on the scene named Glorious who is injecting her full drum set and powerhouse vocals into the electronic dance music concert experience through a newly launched live show for nightclubs and dance music festivals.
Glorious, a livetronica drummer, Pop/R&B singer and producer, has been making music since she started playing drums at the age of three. She is humble, sophisticated and incredibly focused on who she wants to be as an artist. “I love playing the drums and singing and I've been a fan listening and dancing to electronic dance music since I was about 12 years old,” said Glorious.
When she was growing up playing the drums she performed with various jazz bands and youth groups. After the shows, she would always have people come up to her saying how good she was (although she knew there were parts where she messed up).
She was always compared as the "girl drummer" and "female drummer." But this was never good enough for Glorious, because she wanted to be known primarily by her musical talents as an artist. Her mother constantly instilled in her that it is not about being a cute drummer, or the girl drummer. But you want people to know you as a great drummer "period" and an incredible artist.
Because of this, Glorious is constantly pushing herself to grow and develop as a musician an artist. During her performances she pulls from her jazz background and a variety of styles to create her own sound that gets audiences moving, engaged and inspired. She is glamorous yet edgy, classy yet full of grit. Glorious' throw down factor makes her sound and performance one to remember. “I use to be a jazz drummer growing up, so improv is my deal. My live drum set remixes are my version of improv for electronic dance music. It feels good because the audience is so pumped because I'm singing but what people don't expect is for me to kill it on the drums and they especially don't expect me to sing and play a full drum set at the same time," says Glorious.
Her unique strengths of livetronica drumming and soulful vocals produce music that connects the electronic dance music culture and contemporary Pop/R&B in a new way. She has learned to use her life experiences—the good and the challenging—and channel them into her music. The result: a sound universal in meaning and unique in personal inspiration.
Glorious, who is also an Electronic Production and Design major at the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, was pleased to debut her live show at the world famous underground nightclub Sullivan Room in New York City. "At Sullivan Room we are known for providing the best in underground house and techno music in New York City...Glorious playing a full drum kit with our resident DJ wasn't something we had done before and I was curious how it would work but her energy and talent captivated the crowd and our dance floor," says Sergei Sklyarenko, aka SR Serge, owner of Sullivan Room.
Visual stimulation has always been an important element along with the sound production at events. As more event producers and venues raise the bar with lighting and backdrops- nightclub managers, promoters and talent buyers are always looking for what or who they can add to heighten every aspect of the experience. Big name dance music DJs and producers want to make each show different and powerful to keep their fans engaged every time they attend their show and hear their music. Glorious is a performer that delivers that unique blend of visual stimulation and sound with her ability to create drum set remixes to a variety of electronic dance music styles like house, progressive house, trance, techno, and electronica and cover vocals on favorite dance tracks and remixes of contemporary music. - Verge Magazine
