Dayton, Ohio based MC, Chill The Genius is a student of hip hop and music in general. At the urging of his older cousin, he delved into music beyond what the radio played. His cousin's affinity for underground hip hop gave Chill an appreciation of the genre, and a lyrical edge that many artists do not posess. his influences are many but not limited to; Jay-Z, Little Brother, Marvin Gaye, and Gil Scott Heron. With influence from these Lyrical giants and his own experiences, along with an independent and enterprising mind, Chilly's style is a hybrid of both substance and braggadocio. While not trying to reinvent the wheel, with his music Chill is out to encourage, inspire, and motivate listeners, bringing a sense of purpose back to the forefront of the hip hop head's palate. Knowing this will not be the easiest of tasks with the current climate of the culture, Chill lives by a quote from German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, " talent hits a target no one else can hit. Genius hits a target no one else can see."
