Gabe Guthrie & the Galactic Ghouls is a Funk/electro/new wave project with music available on all streaming services. The band plays the music of producer, multi instrumentalist, and singed artist Gabe Guthrie. (Golfshoe Records) The music takes elements of modern funk, synth-wave, electro house, and 80s new-wave to create a unique yet catchy sound encapsulating the "retro-wave" aesthetic.
Gabe Guthrie & the Galactic Ghouls is a 5 member band, consisting of guitar, keys, synth-bass, live drums, and a stretch role covering additional guitar/key parts. The band is known for a very energetic stage performance that engages the crowd. The music is also very easy to dance to, and the covers are well known. The band mixes in "crowd favorite" covers with their original music.
The set is composed of 50% original material (instrumental, synthwave/funk) and 50% new wave (80s and today) covers with vocals. Cover examples: Tears for fears, flock of seagulls, talking heads, MGMT, Miami Horror.
