Conceived in the college town of Columbia Missouri, From Clay plays into ideas of getting out of town and seeing the open road, getting back up after being burned, and ultimately moving forward in stride. The name pulls from a line out of paradise lost, a cynical retort to god. The band pulls a general amount of inspiration from such bands as Foo Fighters and Rise Against.
