Bio
We create foot-stomping, mountain-shaking, bluegrass-infused folk music. Our name was inspired by the Foxfire magazine, a project of Rabun County schools, which worked to preserve and record the customs of Appalachian life. In the tradition of the Foxfire series, we began meeting together in fall 2015 to share and teach each other our hobbies and interests. Before long, we began playing and writing music together. Our love for the hills is not solely musical; when it's time for a retreat from the city, the mountains call us home. Through music, we seek to be a revival of the spirit of age-old Appalachian life.
In the spirit of folk music, we often switch roles and instruments between songs:
Austin Hall: lead vocals, mandolin, and guitar
Brock Beisel: cello, bass, ukulele, and vocals
David Henry: harmonica, guitar, mandolin, percussion, and vocals
Jordan Burbage: banjo, guitar, mandolin, and vocals
