Forged By Fire Bio
Forged By Fire hail from the heart of the Midwest, Salina Ks. Started in 2019 by John Reith and Phil Gonzales, the two got together through an online ad looking for a drummer. The two immediately realized that something just clicked between them. They got straight to writing and set out to put together the band that they wanted, heavy when needed but tempered with their melodic sensibilities. After auditioning a number of singers, what they were looking for finally walked in, Ethan Thompson. Eager and hungry Ethan’s vocals were powerful and heavy. Able to transition between soaring melodies and guttural growls in the same breath. All that was missing was the low end to help hold down the rhythm. After trying people that just didn’t fit Phil decided to tap an old friend, and former band mate Jake Bell. Already well versed in each other’s playing style, Phil and Jake were already in sync and all the pieces fit perfectly. With a solid lineup they set about writing what would become their debut EP, Everything Breaks. 2020 saw their live debut, with their show instantly turning heads. However after a short run of shows and being asked to open for the mighty Hemlock, in rolled Covid-19 and out rolled all planned performances for 2020. The group decided to continue writing and polishing songs. With enough material that spoke to them the way they wanted, they headed into the studio to unleash their pent up energy. The result is an album that checks all the boxes. Heavy and melodic with hints of many influences. Everything Breaks has something for the metal fans and the fans of more radio friendly hard rock. Balancing the two with a reverence for the music that they are fans of.
