HANDS FOR HOPE SMOOTH JAZZ STARLIGHT JAZZ SERENADE 2006
ForeCast (www.jsfloydmusic.com), featuring J.S.Floyd, treated the audience to a selection from their brand new release. Fronted by the duo of the Floyd brothers, Jonathan and Stafford, ForeCast is a unique blend of guitar/keyboard-based smooth jazz. Both have built careers by working independently in many areas of the music business. Bringing their seasoned abilities together under one roof has ignited a music explosion that has to be experienced. Jonathan is an incredible guitar player that plays in a relaxed melodic style in the vein of Lee Ritenour. Stafford’s keyboard playing is incredible too, especially in regards to his full chord soloing. But what is so monstrous about this magnificent duo is their ability to play together in a way that is complementary and never crowded. - Scott Detweiler
If you are a jazz lover, then this CD is a must have. You will not be disappointed. Every song takes you to another place, and it allows your mind to feel good. Listen to it while your driving down the coast, cleaning up, making love, of just because you feel like hearing it. No matter what the reason this Cd definitely does not disappoint. Add it to your collection and you will play it often if not at least once a day, or a couple times of the week, or you may even find yourself putting certain songs or the whole disc on repeat. ForeCast featuring J.S. Floyd definitley can stand and play with the best. I can't wait to have the chance to hear them live. Let me just repeat myself this is a must have CD. Buy it and then tell all your friends and family who love jazz. Your collection won't be complete without it. Trust me when I say that twenty, thirty years from now this CD will still sound as good as the first day you played it. Another best of the best has arrived and they are known as ForeCast featuring J.S. Floyd. - Kim Houster
J.S. FLOYD (www.jsfloydmusic.com) would be next on the stage and you can believe that they came to play. The Floyd Brothers, Jonathan on hollowbody, sharp-cutaway guitar, and Stafford on keys, took no prisoners as they laid it out for the audience. They played two selections from their CD, “Forecast featuring: J. S. Floyd,” one of which was “Tin Man.” “Tin Man” was originally a hit for the group America in the mid 1970s and was written by Dewey Bunnel. Well, the Floyd Brothers took the tune and Floydacized it, transforming it into one of the best examples of a smooth jazz remake that you would ever want to hear. With Jonathan’s articulated jazz guitar riffs, complemented by Stafford’s chromatic runs up and down the keyboard, the song gets a breath of new funky, smooth jazz, life and helps forge a place for J.S. Floyd in the fabric of the smooth jazz scene today. If you are in the Southern California area, don’t miss their upcoming shows these guys are hot. - NO HO Arts District

New and hot on the horizon is a jazzy explosion of brotherly love personified by the collaboration of keyboard maestro Stafford Floyd and guitar master Jonathan Floyd. As a group they are ForeCast featuring “J. S. Floyd,” a new and distinguished duo destined to change the face and the taste of smooth jazz.
What is exciting and new is that now Jonathan has returned to Tinsel Town to team up with his brother Stafford to make their own history by mixing keyboards and guitar in a way that fans haven’t heard since the last George Duke-Stanley Clark collaboration. Putting all comparisons aside, the proof is in the music itself, when you hear it, you will feel it and you will move in a 2 jazzy, new jazzy and smooth jazzy kind of way.
