Fashion Jackson is a band that defies categorization, having only recently come to adopt the "garage-pop" umbrella to describe their sonically diverse and stylistically fluid output. Formed in the Ocean Beach neighborhood of San Diego in late 2016, the band has quickly gained a fervent and devoted cult following in its year and a half active. They self-produced released three EPs in 2017, inspired heavily by the DIY ethos of hip-hop and lo-fi indie. Fashion Jackson's 2018 has been peppered so far by a run of sold-out headlining shows in the San Diego area, with plans to release new music as well as expand into the fashion industry with their Outfit Machine brand.
