From rap, to country to rock and roll, any true gentleman can appreciate good music. We all want to know who is the next “big thing” and who is making the hottest music right now. Well, our Artist on the Rise feature will be profiling Farroh, an up and coming rapper out of the University of Iowa, and a true gentleman.
Also known as Sammy Aiman Al-Qady, Farroh is an Egyptian American rapper, producer and songwriter. Being Egyptian-American, he believes that he is unique and different from the average rapper on the rise. Farroh started writing music at the age of 12, but it was not until age 15 that he hit the studio and started producing and recording songs. He released his first unofficial mixtape, Sweatshirts and Snapbacks, in April of 2011 and received great local feedback. His second mixtape, Chapter 20, was released in August of 2013, garnering him national recognition. He just recently dropped his third mixtape, Expectations, in February of 2014, and his popularity has really taken off since then. Farroh is a sponsored artist under the clothing brand Fresh to Death Society. Farroh has done concerts with several big name artist, opening for Ying Tang Twins, Kid Ink, Twista, Mac Miller, and Huey Mack to name a few.
Farroh is on the rise and is bound to blow up soon. He was recently nominated by College of Music for “Freshman of the Year” with artists such as Chance the Rapper and Schoolboy Q. “Look Alive” is the first single off Farroh‘s forthcoming mixtape titled ‘Expectations’. Farroh puts his singing voice as well as unique flow on display on this track, and it’s one of my favorite songs I’ve heard from him. It has a very upbeat vibe to it and I guarantee you’ll love “Look Alive”. Definitely hop on board now, because Farroh has the potential to do big things. - Fist in the Air

Sammy Aiman Al-Qady (born October 11, 1992), better known by his stage name Farroh, is an Egyptian-American rapper, audio engineer, and song-writer. He first started writing music at the age of 12. At the age of 15, working out of his friends basement, he started producing and recording music. The name Farroh originated from his deep Egyptian background. His first unofficial mixtape ‘Sweatshirts and Snapbacks’ released April 20th, 2011. Farroh has recently debuted his official freshman mixtape ‘Chapter 20’, which was released August 20th, 2013, and since came back with a sophomore mixtape entitled ‘Expectations’. Songs such as “Look Alive” were even picked up by national music blogs like Fist in the Air. Farroh is a sponsored artist under the clothing brand FTD Society (Fresh to Death Society), and has opened up for national artists such as Mac Miller, Kid Ink, Huey Mack, T. Mills, Ying Yang Twins, and Twista. In addition to playing these huge shows, Farroh has been gaining recognition by being named a nominee for College-of-Music.com's 2014 Freshman Class, as well winning esteemed videographer Jon Kilmer's free music video contest.
