Let’s talk about the opening performances of the night. Amazing sets by Jersey band Exit Eleven and solo artist Kelli Bruno. Both were great at anticipating what was to come!
Exit Eleven played some impressive original, alternative rock songs that are heavily 90’s and 00’s influenced. The group’s songs consisted of both acoustic and electric guitar elements which provided a nice dynamic range. On their Facebook, they described their songs as “relevant today but will still make you want to bust out that old, cozy flannel shirt. You know you still have one, so pop it on and give them a listen.” Reading that description especially made me smile because I was, in fact, wearing a ‘cozy flannel shirt’ at the venue! This is a band I’d definitely want to check out again! - Asbury Park Vibes

Exit Eleven is an all-original alt rock band that's proud of the New Jersey music scene they came up in. You won't find these guys pretending they're out of NYC or Philly, and that's why they chose to name the band after the intersection of Jersey's most famous roads (the NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway).
Exit Eleven was influenced by various 90's bands such as Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Goo Goo Dolls, Dave Matthews, Smashing Pumpkins, the Pixies, Sunny Day Real Estate, Chamberlain, and have continued to be inspired by bands like Coldplay, the Killers, Mumford & Sons, Lumineers and Kings of Leon.
The band's sound is driven by a one acoustic, one electric guitar sound (Far From Low, Reflection), but there are plenty of all-electric rockers (Open, We Need to Know) and poppy anthems (Off, In My Way) built in to keep the pace up and the crowd engaged.
When you see Exit Eleven live, their songs sound just like their recordings, the band is not willing (nor able) to hide behind slick production. Exit Eleven is what they appear to be--a fun, accessible rock outfit--and they will not try to be anything other than that. With new songs, recording dates and shows coming up post-pandemic, Exit Eleven is excited to bring its music to a larger audience than ever in 2023.
