Bio
Ethernauts is a Progressive Post-Rock five piece based in Oswego, NY. Their performances are urgent yet restrained, driven by raw, sweltering vocals, ambient synth and guitar, and complex composition refined in the punishing Syracuse music scene starting in 2011. Beginning as a lo-fi folk-rock band, Ethernauts began channeling their inner Prog nerd early in their carrer, as is evidenced by 2015’s “Demergo,” a self-recorded, self-produced and self-mixed exercise in accessible Prog heavily influenced by the works of Explosions in the Sky and Steven Wilson. The second track, “Southern Coast,” earned a place among Syracuse’s 95X 2015 Locals Only Top 20 list. In 2016, Ethernauts re-recorded the single “Porch of Bark” as an unattached piece. This song also made it to the Top 20 list, making it the second year in a row Ethernauts was on the list.
Presently, Ethernauts is in the final writing stages of their first full-length studio album, “Peerless Love,” a concept piece on fatherhood, dreams, and adventures turned tragic. Following the success of “Demergo,” this piece will also be recorded in Wes Jones’ Girth Street Studios.
