He attended Mannes College of Music in New York as a classical guitar major, received a scholarship to study with Andres Segovia in Spain and has studied with Julian Bream and Narciso Yepes, among others.
As a classical guitarist, he has performed more than 400 concerts nationwide, in Canada and Europe, including traditional symphonic works such as the Concerto de Aranjuez, as well as New Music such as "Ancient Voices of Children" by George Crumb, "Paradigm" and "Map" with Lukas Foss' Creative Associates.
He also sings and plays traditional songs from many cultures, including: Spanish, Italian, Calo, Portuguese, Zapotec, Quechua, Hebrew, Ladino, and English.
Esteban Bello also appears as a soloist or with his Flamenco Bello, also available as strolling guitarists/vocalists who perform tradtional Mariachi and Bolero, as well as a variety of songs from South America.
His Cuban Son Group, "The Mira Vista Social Club," presents Cuban Son music in the style of the Buena Vista Social Club, and has just returned from a command performance for the Coronation of the King of Tonga.
His studies of traditional flamenco cante and toque have resulted in the recent release of his first Flamenco CD, "Flamenco Sin Cheli," with letras in Calo, the language of the Andalusian gypsies.
His flamenco stage show "Cafe Flamenco" presents traditional flamenco music and dance for restaurants, corporate functions and private parties.
