Erik Ritland's music takes his influences, including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, '90s alternative rock, and classic rock n' roll, and makes them his own.
He began his career as leader of Twin Cities alternative rock band Floating Bridge. They played shows in some of the most highly regarded venues in the Twin Cities, including the Turf Club, the 400 Bar, the 331 Club, Station 4, and many others. Their catchy pop/rock can be heard on "Promises" and "Throwaway Nation."
Recently Erik released his debut EP "Firelight." The title track is a dark piece of traditionally inspired, apocalyptic folk that features Nate Houge on lap steel guitar. It is the lead single from Erik's debut album that is set to be released in 2014. "Firelight" and "Stay Inside," which can also be found on the EP, can be heard in the music section of this press kit.
Recently Erik launched his Patreon page (http://www.patreon.com/erikritland). For as little as $2 a month fans receive two new, professionally recorded songs plus special bonuses. Funds raised will go towards the release of Erik's debut full-length album.
