That’s Erica Danea.
This lady MC from Kansas City, Kansas is a force to be reckoned with and she’s taking the Christian rap game by storm.
For those yet to familiarize themselves with holy hip hop, Erica Danea has a flow comparable to the likes of Nikki Minaj minus the Barbie doll all-pink-everything antics.
While artists like Foxxy Brown and Lil Kim paved the way for Nikki, Erica Danea hopes to be one of the pioneers for other Christian female rappers, as this side of the industry is still a little scarce on the estrogen.
Ultimately, Erica Danea aims to influence women to stay true to themselves without allowing the ways of the world to shape who they are destined to become – be it as rappers or otherwise.
“You don’t have to sell out,” Erica Danea says. “You can keep your clothes on and still make it.”
Erica Danea made her rap debut in 2010 with her hit single “I’m a Christian.”
The following year, she was featured on Pastor AD3’s “What You Drinkin’ On” from his album No Pain, No Love which peeked at #3 on iTunes. Erica has appeared full ride recording art Thi'sl Gurlcode which charted #11 on I-Tunes.
Currently, Erica Danea is working on her new album Counter Culture, a project that shares the same name as her record label and film studio.
