Bio
Emma Beckett is a pop songwriter who draws inspiration from old blues, and modern pop Emma Beckett is a twenty one year old alternative artist and songwriter who draws inspiration from both modern pop music, and blues; citing Hozier, James Bay as major influences. Combining the melodic lines and attitude of blues, with modern pop production results in emotionally rich, ear catching, moody alt-pop.
Growing up to the sounds of classical hymns and pipe organs, and learning to play the piano before she started first grade, music was always natural. But when pre-teen angst prompted her to start writing cutesy ukulele love songs, she eventually found and settled into her unique musical lane. A young, queer artist writing honest songs about messy nights, unrequited pining, and gay tears, she has established herself as one to watch.
After releasing a debut four track EP, she got back into the studio and recorded a mini album. It was there, that her unique blend of blues and pop was really established. The self penned, and self produced mini album, Drop Out, was released in early November of 2018. Prior to that release, Emma had already gained momentum online by posting covers and original music on YouTube. She has amassed well over half a million views, and has just surpassed ten thousand subscribers to her channel.
