Townley

Townley aka West Side Renz is a talented young rapper that carries his hometown, Glendale, AZ, on his back in everything he does. Townley first fell in love with music around the age of five or six, when he was able to memorize and recite Cleanin’ Out My Closet by Eminem. Townley started rapping in 2016. In 2017, Townley dropped his first five track EP on Soundcloud Nothing Purer than Dirty Kids. “Looking back on it, the music wasn’t that great...mostly because I hadn’t really found my sound yet, but it was cool”. In 2018, Townley took a break from recording and was solely writing. Even though Townley is a Glendalien to his core, Most of his musical influences are from California such as Snoop Dog, YG, Ice Cube. In February 2020, Townley got back in the booth and started cooking up his latest project Under the Buzz. “The project is called Under the Buzz because I am under the buzz and Arizona is literally under the buzz of everything.” Despite the heavy West Coast Influences, Townley makes music for the residents of Glendale, “I want to make music that’s for us”. Townley also pays heavy attention to how the song sounds sonically as well as lyrically, “My goal is to make music that is easy for the listener to understand and vibe with.” At the end of the day, Townley just wants his listeners to know, “I’m just a regular and relatable guy and I want to connect with the people that built me up to where I am and where I am going.”
