Dream Ray Lee

While old school MC’s and lyricists insinuate that Hip Hop is Dead, Dream Ray Lee begs to differ. “The culture is not dead,” he states, “there is still a number of strong influencers—and I happen to be one of them.”

Born Gavin Wigfall, Dream Ray Lee, is a MC/Poet from Charleston, South Carolina. With hit singles like “I Wanna Go” and “I Never Knew”, the 13-year- veteran, proves to be Hip Hop’s catalyst for change.

Dream Ray Lee’s musical career originally started with Dark Korna Records and Ayi Mafia. Collectively they released a number of mixtapes; performed throughout the Carolinas and Georgia; and was featured on CharlestonHype.com and Those to Watch Radio Show.  And, while he considered himself the story teller of the group, fans describes him as a realist.  

Dream Ray Lee is known to deliver meaningful, yet relatable, life experiences bar by bar. His artistry continues to be inspired by the dated works of Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Marvin Gaye and Teddy Pendergrass. But his biggest inspiration is his wife of nearly five years—Neo Lady Chae, the model. Fans, however, will get to learn a little more about him through his upcoming EP.

Drifting, to be released Spring 2017, introduces Dream Ray Lee as a solo artist.  He hope to expand his fanbase, have a fulfilling music career, and shed light onto real Hip Hop.  

“I want to make music that’s relatable, stirs emotions, and that’s always on repeat,” he adds. “I want to speak for my listeners who don’t have an outlet to be heard.”
