Dray Jr. was born on January 31, 1988 as Andre Hicks Jr. in Portland, ME. Junior is from the low-income Portland Public Housing neighborhood Sagamore Village in Portland where he grew up and began rapping at the age of 13.
His original stage name, Trouble, stemmed from his troubled childhood and the rap sheet that came with it. He later changed it to Dray Jr. in 2012 when he was released from prison and decided it was time to change his life and focus on music and family.
Junior has gradually established himself as one of Portland's hottest and most recognized MCs and performers since his release in 2012 and the successful local release of his first Mixtape "Death Before Dishonor", in 2014.
