This jazz trio from Seattle came to be by way of Craigslist. Bob and Jeff played together for a half decade before adding Ray into the folds. After a year of living in the Woodshed, Don’t Move plunged into the Seattle jazz scene; neither would be the same again. Bob, Ray, and Jeff came to Seattle via upstate New York, New York City, Philadelphia, New Orleans, California, Oklahoma, and Spokane.

Jazz exploration is vital to the growth and perseverance of the genre. Simply playing standards of old isn’t going to cut it. There must be an evolution to the music, not just praise of history past, for it to continue. Don’t Move does their part with original music, standard exploitation, and neo standards. Neo standards might be music from Radiohead to Digable Planets to Biz Markie.
